Blu-ray Monday: Trolls

trollsFor this week’s Blu-ray Monday we’re giving away a brand new Blu-ray copy of Trolls, the latest adventure from DreamWorks Animations.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake lead an all-star cast including Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, Gwen Stefani, John Cleese, James Corden and more. Based on the original Troll dolls, the film follows a colony of happy Trolls, who like to sing and dance their way through life. However, their way of life is constantly threatened by the Bergens, pessimistic monsters who enjoy nothing more than eating the Trolls. The film features a brilliant sing-a-long soundtrack, including the number-one single from Timberlake, Can’t Stop the Feeling.

The Blu-ray comes with a number of special extras, including a sing-along interactive feature, a behind-the-scenes look at the animation, deleted scenes and much more.

Trolls is based on the popular children’s toy, but it’s not the only movie to draw inspiration from such a place. What is your favourite toy-based movie and why? Perhaps it’s Transformers, Dungeons and Dragons, G.I. Joe or Max Steel? Or maybe an animated film, such as The Lego Movie or one of its spinoffs, or one of the Toy Story films, which features many classic children’s toys. Whatever you’d pick, let us know in the comments below.

  1. the original Toy Story movie is the one that I’m thinking of. The characters (particularly BuzzLightYear and Woody) were so much fun and brought those toys to life

  6. Wall-E!! This was my son’s favorite movie and the first movie he was able to sit through and watch and comprehend as he has autism. In the past, he would just watch the credits or rewind certain parts. I bought every Wall-E toy I could find and my son and I had many fun years playing together.

  7. we love Toy Story – my kiddies believe that their toys come alive when they are asleep :-) adds magical imagination when young :-)

  8. My fave toy based movie is Transformers. I played with them with my brother as a kid.
The only thing about the movie that confused me is that the Megatron toy transformed into a gun. Not to what it was in the movie.

  12. I’m going to have to go with Max Steel! Fabulous characters, and my son loved it. My 2 girls LOVE Toy Based movies like Barbie The Princess and the Popstar and Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer… that one is almost as old as I am, but it’s a good one :)
